In April 2021, a scholarship award funded by the ATA Foundation was established for college-bound Salesian High School graduates. Thanks to the wonderful ATA Foundation, three scholarships are granted to the top students with the highest combined averages in mathematics, science and technology.
The candidates must be enrolled as four-year Salesian students. The students must take at least two advanced courses from the subjects mentioned above during each grade level year.
The ATA Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) prize awards are as follows:
1st Prize: $50,000
2nd Prize: $25,000
3rd Prize: $10,000
Three members of the Salesian High School Class of 2021 had the honor of receiving the inaugural ATA Foundation Awards: Liam Patrick O’Driscoll (University of Michigan), Joao Victor De Paula Lopes (Cornell University), and Jonathon Albert Rosado (Fordham University).
However, the Class of 2022 ATA Foundation Awards recipients were astonishingly unique with five award winners: Christopher Moronta, Marco La Vecchia, Michael Vidal, Ibrahim Ghazal, and Matthew McKoy. Congratulations to each one of these students, as Salesian is proud of all their accomplishments and thankful for the ways they enrich our school community.
Christopher Moronta: $25,000
Marco La Vecchia: $25,000
Michael Vidal: $12,500
Ibrahim Ghazal: $12,500
Matthew McKoy: $10,000
Future STEM leaders and educators will be the products of this award. Salesian High School is grateful for the generosity which the ATA Foundation has bestowed upon our students in the spirit of Home, School, Parish, Playground.
